How should an air knife be maintained and inspected?

The inner and outer surfaces of the air knife lip are coated with a hard chrome layer of 0.025-0.05 mm. The hard chrome layer on the inner surface may minimize airflow frictional resistance, while the hard chrome layer on the outer surface can improve surface hardness, prevent collision deformation, and make the surface more durable. Because the surface is exceedingly smooth and smooth, it is difficult to adhere slag to it and decrease nodules on the air knife, therefore this hard chrome coating must be safeguarded from harm. When fixing the air knife, use metallographic sandpaper to carefully wipe off the zinc slag and zinc vapor on the interior and outside of the blade. The crystallization smoothes and cleans the inside and outside of the air knife lip, making it difficult to stick slag during usage.

If there is a small deformation on the lip of the air knife, you can use a whetstone for local grinding, and pay special attention not to use a whetstone to polish a large area, so as to minimize the damage to the hard chrome layer. If the air knife lip is refurbished, the hard chrome layer must be removed first, then ground to the original size, and hard chrome plated again. The air knife equipped with an air filter must be removed and cleaned at least every two or three months to prevent the filter from clogging and increasing resistance.

If there is a minor distortion on the air knife's lip, you can use a whetstone for local grinding. Be careful not to use a whetstone to polish a broad area, as this can cause damage to the hard chrome coating. If the air knife lip is refurbished, the hard chrome coating must be removed first, followed by grinding to the original size and hard chrome plating. To avoid clogging and increasing resistance, the air knife equipped with an air filter must be removed and cleaned at least every two or three months.
